Member Number Assigned?

Hi, I was wondering if this Forum assigns a member number (probably unknowingly to most people) when a person signs up?

I see on 'My Profile' page the end of my page address is: /42052-WestCoasting'. Do you think that 42052 is my unique number?

I used to belong to another 5th wheel club and when the Admins discovered in their settings that the forum they used automatically assigned member numbers, they made that visible in the member list so that everyone could see their assigned member number. Many of the members used 4" to 6" vinyl stick-on lettering and put the numbers on the front top of their 5th wheel so others on the Forum could identify them when passing on the road, while camping, or even at fuel stations. It was nice to be able to identify others who belonged to the forum.

That’s what it is. If you’ll quote Ynot4me2’s post above, you’ll see their member number in the quote as well as Janet’s from the reference.

When you join the forum, you are assigned a member ID number and you choose a display name. Even if your display name is changed the ID number remains. They are not editable and are assigned incrementally based on join date. Members with very low numbers joined the forum early on.

I have also seen some forum (and belong to several) where the user ID number is used on rigs to ID forum members.... that said, newer members always have higher numbers and if the forum is very large, the numbers can get long.
