Eternabond Roof Sealant Tape
Prior to winter storage last fall, I was on the roof of our 2018 Imagine 2970 RL. Everything looked really good except there were two areas on the membrane, maybe 6 inches or so in diameter that look like there are a number of hairline cracks, although I'm not really sure they are cracks so much as a blemish on the surface of the membrane. I don't have any water intrusion and we have had some pretty serious rains last year.
Anyway, to be on the safe side I was going to cover the areas with Eternabond tape. I see on Amazon they sell Eterna Clean and Eterna Prime, both cans for like $65.00, , which seems pretty steep. Can I just clean the area with some rubbing alcohol or another cleaner?
Thanks in advance for the help!

I bought the EternaBond cleaner and prep. Don't waste your money. Get a can of acetone, some 70% rubbing alcohol (or higher concentrate, I have 99%) a medium bristle brush, and some terrycloth rags.
Use the acetone sparingly to degrease the area, use the rubbing alcohol to prep it, again sparingly, then apply the EternaBond.
The brush and rags are for applying the acetone and rubbing alcohol.

Thanks for the reply! Did you use the little Eternabond roller or just smooth it out with your hands?

I used some Eternabond tape for an emergency repair on my old TT. I didn’t have the Eternabond prep products or acetone or alcohol or anything. The Eternabond tape went right on the dirty membrane. Not ideal, I know, but it was an emergency repair. It held for several years and was still water tight when I sold the trailer. It’s some good stuff.
I now carry a tube of caulk that I’ll try to use first if/when I need to. I’m sure it’s just a matter of time.

The roller works really well, especially along the edges and for seams. But having said that, I just used a wallpaper roller, purchased at any hardware store, likely for a lot cheaper then what an "eternabond" roller will cost you. It's basically the same thing.
