I agree with @Hoopy Frood - the Lippert (and thus GD) stance against doing that is a legal/CYA thing. I have used the hydraulic jacks to lift the wheels off the ground on several occasions. The sum of the capacity of the jacks far exceeds the weight of the trailer. I just make sure that heavy-duty jack stands are placed evenly around the chassis in case of a hydraulic failure and only do it on a level, solid surface.

So if I want to work on just one side do you just lower that rear jack or lower both rear's? I caught a nail in my right rear tire and want to take it to Discount Tire for repair. And does the single jack technique raise both tires on that side? Thanks.

It depends on whether you have hydraulic jacks or electric. The hydraulic jacks will raise or lower both the middle and the rear cylinders at the same time. Not sure about the electric.

My Reflection does not have middle jacks. I can raise/lower each jack individually but done think I want to try it.

Going individually you need to aware of lifting it in tooo uneven a manner. It is said you can tweak the frame.

Curious. Anybody know what the lifting rating of the GD hydraulic jacks is?

They are not Grand Design jacks, but Lippert products. For instance, the Ground Control 3.0 jacks are generally all 5,000# but some models have 6,000# lead jacks (front landing gear). The hydraulic systems generally have higher rated jacks.

Interesting. I don't think I can do a single jack on my unit. I can to both fronts, both rears or both left or right sides together.

It might be set up like that to avoid twisting the frame.

If you jack the trailer up, support with jacks under the frame, and remove all wheels (or both wheels on same axle), without supporting the axle at all, does it increase likelihood of flipping the axle?

I thought for sure I read that somewhere here on this site, but now not sure.

Not the axle, but you can flip the shackled. No big deal. Just need to pay attention when lowering that they rotate back to proper position. Should one or two stick, give them a little help with a pry bar.
