2023 17mke different interiors???
We're interested in buying the 2023 17MKE. We've noticed there are 2 different interiors. It's the different backing on the underside of the Murphy bed when it's up. One is a darker soft material and the other is hard and the same material and light color of the walls. The mattress is also different, The mattress with the dark backing has a dark navy mattress and the other has a light colored mattress. Does anyone know if these cosmetic difference come with any other differences? Is one better than the other? Did GD change the interior mid year? Is one a newer design?
Also, does the 17MKE come with the tankless water heater? Some of the "specifics" list it as having a quick recovery tank? how big is the tank? We are hoping to get some additional info if anyone knows before we take the plunge to purchase. Thanks so much.Last edited by whithow70; 04-25-2023 at 08:36 AM.

Unlike the auto industry, the rv industry makes changes as the year advances. Looping @huntr70 who might have more info.

Expect the 6 gal dual propane/electric water heater. It works just fine.
*edit: I stand corrected. GD website indicates they have switched the xls line to tankless. Not sure the date of the switch. Pros and cons to both
Hopefully a dealer rep will chime in on the other thing. It could just be parts availability between the two you’ve seen, but it may be a changeLast edited by Stealth13777; 05-02-2023 at 06:35 PM.

I'm not sure what the OP is actually asking, but the link below takes you to the newest build.
This unit came in last week.
Yes, the tankless water heater is standard now.

Manufacturers are still dealing with Part's issues. Maybe not availability anymore, but some parts have tripled in cost, so alternatives are been sought.Steve- Inventory Manager at Tom Schaeffer's RV, Shoemakersville, PA www.tomschaeffers.com
