    California Diesel Truck Ban

For those of you that live in or frequently visit California, you may or may not be aware that the California Air Resource Board (CARB) unanimously voted (4 days ago) to ban the sale of new diesel big rigs, delivery and garbage trucks by 2036. Though there is no mention of whether or not this ban is applicable to heavy duty tow vehicles, they did not address them specifically. Does anybody know if this ban will be applicable to the avid RV'er and how difficult it will be to buy diesel as we march toward the deadline? As a Ca resident, I am concerned that my $100K F-350 will be nothing but a 8K pound paper weight in a few years and my rig a permanent structure on my property.

I wouldn't worry about it. A lot can happen in 13 years, up to and including, politicians coming to their senses.

My prediction is that your $100k F350 will be worth $150k or more when and if the ban to sell NEW diesels comes about. Law of supply and demand.

The only issue may be ability to find diesel fuel reasonably priced if CA gets too crazy.

I’m sure your truck will be grandfathered in and in high demand as new trucks disappear.

^^^^^^That is what I've read. California has or is going to ban the sale of gas-powered small engines-think weed eaters, mowers, generators. But you can still use them here. Glad I live less than 100 miles from Nevada.
I've also read Ca. is also going to ban the sale of gas-powered passenger cars earlier than the truck ban. Guess we're gonna have to baby our Subaru.

That’s true. For California no more gas powered cars after 2025. Pretty much 18 months away.

    That's 2035

And it's California, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Washington.

    Guess we can't go anywhere.....

That’s ok, I played their same game and banned California… will never visit there due to their idiotic policies :-)

On a more serious note I hope the Cummins Hydrogen block gets rocking soon.
