On our new RV, one of the mods that I had the factory do, immediately, we remove the solid steps. I hated them too. Solving a problem I don't have (the regular steps work just fine) and introducing a ton of new problems. Every time I opened the rig, needing to level the legs. Hitting on the door. Taking the dirt from the outside to the inside everytime you close them. Hard or impossible to open in tight locations (truck stops/rest areas/etc). It was a "NO WAY" for our new rig.

I could see people liking them if they use their RV like a summer home, take it somewhere, set it up, leave it there for a few months. That just isn't how we use our RV, so, for us, it was literally ALL cons.

We actually had to move the trailer once when we, purposefully, parked close to the concrete patio at our site. We discovered that, because of the height of the concrete patio, we couldn't get our steps low enough to close the door. I didn't like them before, so that was just icing on the cake.

I tried finding my edge trim and where I bought it from, but no success on finding it. It was black of course and kind of a "crinkle" pattern instead of smooth, and if I remember correctly, either 1/2" or 9/16"......sorry, it must not have come from Amazon because I search past purchases and couldn't find it.

I've had that problem, the "not long enough" problem (wound up using my Anderson blocks under the feet of the steps), "not enough room to open" problem, "banging up against the door" problem (where it would work against the screen door when we drove and dented/removed the paint, "packing up in the rain" problem (a soaking wet step going into your RV makes a heck of mess)..

I could go on. Those things just caused so many problems and, at least for us, didn't solve any. The steps at the garage were just fine, solid enough, yes, they moved more than the StepAbove, but, it's not like they were a diving board. It was one of the few things about my 351M that I really, really disliked.

I ordered some in white from Amazon when I did a project in the utility bay. It probably comes in black, too:

Did you buy the trailer used? I've not heard of any trailers that come from the factory with Torklift steps.

Quite excited about getting our steps, they are in route from KC now....maybe get tomorrow.
They gave me a military discount, Taylor (customer service) was awesome. Can't wait.
Will add more once I start cutting and installed.
Thanks to everyone for their input.
Happy Memorial Day weekend to all.

Anyone have an idea at what price point the removed steps might be worth?
