    Raised Table Legs

My wife and I are fairly tall. She's 5' 10" and I'm 6' 2". Whenever we sat at the table our thighs would rub on the bottom of the table drawer. So I got some 2" furniture legs from Home Depot and put them under the legs and screwed them to the floor. I had to make sure I got the right length screws so it wouldn't scratch the floor when sliding in.
Now we can eat in comfort.

Very good mod! My wife and I have the same issue and I never thought of this approach. What size screws did you use? I may end up doing this one....

I think they were 2 1/2" or 3", not sure. I had to bore out the screw hole in the top of the original leg to get the length right.

Now you got me thinkin'. I wonder if there is any way to drop the height for us short folks.

I've honestly thought about cutting the legs down on the chairs because of banging our knees on the bottom of the table. But this may be the easier alternative.

I followed Todds lead and put some 1 1/2 inch spacers under the table legs. I used 4 inch #14 Spax construction (Home Depot) screws to re attach to the floor. Screw length was perfect but I did have to make the original counter sink and hole in the table base bigger (3/8 for the countersink and 1/4 inch hole). We're not tall people but the extra room for our legs makes it easier to navigate in and out of the chairs.
