    374TH Thoughts

Hello Everyone! I'm considering purchase of a lightly used 374TH. I'm an experienced RVer with 25+ years in different Class A units. I've towed goose neck horse trailers many miles; but, never a fifth wheel and never 20,000 pounds. The particular unit I'm looking at has had a few trim pieces repaired and a broken cabinet door mount - all in the nose of the trailer. Also there was mention of windows replaced...also in the nose. The engineer in me ponders about excessive vibration being transmitted somehow. Is this common in longer/heavier 5th wheel units? Possible a bad coupling device? Inadequately sprung tow vehicle? Other? Your thoughts and comments would be appreciated. Stay safe and dry everyone!

We have a 2019 374TH and have towed it about 15,000 miles so far. A fair bit of trim has worked loose during that time but they are usually only attached with pin nails so that isn't too surprising. No window issues for us so far (knock wood!) although I believe some of the earlier ones had some issues with the lower windows in the 2 slides falling out. I am not sure what the resolution on those was.

Ken @orbiker has a 374 as well. Possibly Ken will chime in or you can PM him for feedback.

    Thanks, in advance, Ken !

    What year 374TH?
Many of the earlier 376 and 374's had window problems in the slide outs. They were a large one piece window that would not stay closed and they would get blown / sucked out. GD replaced them with the 2 piece window like what I have in our 2018 374TH-R.

Our Solitude does not have any front vibration. We don't leave things on the shelves, but could.

The triple axle rigs seem to travel smoother, but take a bit to get them to come around a corner; forward or backwards. Swing wide going forward and cut early going backwards. Watch the tires in either direction.

If you have any more question; lets hear them... KEN

Thanks all for the feedback. Ken the 374TH unit I'm looking at is a 2017. As a side note. Are you happy with your RAM3500 DRW for a tow vehicle?

Our Ram is great. It does have the 3;55 butt gears, but marches right up even the steeper mountain passes without laboring.

Grand Design is not making the 374TH any more. Mistake again on their part. We had a 2016 380TH Momentum. It was very heavy duty for a short garage toy hauler with 3 axles. GD doesn't make it any more either. The 374TH has (in my opinion) a nicer décor then the 376TH. I didn't want the huge generator or the fuel tank either. KEN
