Question for those with Winegard Trav'ler dishes...Sanity Check

For those who have installed or have had installed a Winegard Trav'ler dish, how many tubes of sealant did you use during install? Here's why...Camping World charged me for 6 tubes. I figured it would take 2 tubes max. They haven't installed it yet, but I was going to ask for all of the tubes when they started the install, number them, initial them, and then ask for the tubes back when they were done. I'm just curious what your experience was.

That sounds like an awful lot to me.....six tubes?

Mine was installed by a local Dish installer......they were several hundred cheaper than the three RV shops that I got quotes from

Yep. That's what I thought too. The install is $59, so that's great. But I'm not going to subsidize it with $72 worth of of sealant. LOL

I've installed 2 Travelers on motorhomes. I never needed more than one tube and followed the install instructions to the letter.

Personally I would not let Camping World change a spark plug in my lawn mower.

Six tubes is absolutely absurd.

I've installed two Trav'Lers and used just under two tubes each time. I put the plate under the dish and that requires extra sealant.

That depends on the Camping World. The one in Kansas City I wouldn't let them put air in my push lawnmower tires but the one Springfield MO treated us fair and fix all the things Campworld in Kansas City messed up. I'm, not a big fan of Campworld we found a repair guy that been in business since the '50s and does repair only no sales.

I had McClains Rockwall TX install mine (I purchased it and they did the install) I think I paid a flat $250 if I recall, went up and inspected looks great. Since I have the full extended warranty I wanted them to do all the work so they are on the hook if it ever leaked.
