Dish placement - does anyone travel with their Dish Satellite hanging on the ladder?

I just installed this and it seems pretty sturdy, is it safe to travel with it like this? Anyone else do this? Pic needs to be flipped. Thanks

I’ve been using the same mount for four months now. i like the mount, but I remove the dish when traveling. I doubt that the ladder would survive having that much mass hanging on it. I swing the mount around against the ladder when Not using it.

I personally wouldn't hang anything I like from the ladder while moving. If you take a look at how secure the ladder is you won't want to spend more time on it yourself than absolutely necessary. While moving there is a lot of movement to a trailer and the farther back the more movement. That means the weight and force of something is multiplied by the bouncing. Yes I've seen ladders attached to the ladder, bicycles, dome antennas, and other things. I wouldn't though.

Agree with the others in that the ladder is not made for that loading in transport.

It's a Winegard MT-4000 I believe. Available online or at CW.

I got a question. If you use the ladder mount but remove it to travel, why not just set it on the roof?

Well that's a good question. I suppose you could. I drove through a campground last year and the host had one perched up on the front of their Refection 5th wheel and I thought that might be an idea, so before I bought the ladder attachment I got in the bed of the truck with the Dish and I sure couldn't get up as high as they did. It's not hard to place it on the holder, I have a collapsable step ladder that I use and there are locking holes in the mount - I just figured if the ladder could stand the weight ~ 15-20# with both the mount and the dish, I would just leave up there.

Thanks. I really dont want mine permanently attached so was wondering how your mount worked. Going up a ladder with a dish in one hand is tricky.

We set our on the ground mostly but, it is risky.
