New owner of a Solitude 310gk

    Morning all

Just closed the deal on a 2021 310gk and a 2021 F350 Srw diesel. We are upgrading from an older 26’ rockwood ulta lite TT. Super happy with the rig though will admit to some angst on the Srw. Just did not want to drive a dually long box round town and concerned on maneuvering around provincial camp grounds. Had to order the truck so just hoping the cargo capacity is north of 3600 lbs

We are retiring in a couple years so this is the rig we plan to use to circumnavigate North America

Looking at the Ford specs it appears a base model curb weight for a 2021 F-350 CC 4x4 with 6.7 is 7,424 pounds. The 4x2 lists at 7,004. Your options will determine actual curb weight as well.

I have a 2020 F-350 6.7L diesel Lariat SRW long bed with the 12,400 GVWR package. Caro capacity listed on the door sticker is 4,541 lbs., so you should be good with your truck. My wife and I just ordered the 310GK-R with estimated delivery late April, but expecting it to be sometime in May.

Wow 12400 gvwr. Did not know that was possible must be the long bed. My gvwr is 11500 so that would imply a ccc of 3600

Yes, it should be over 3,600. The curb weight of my truck is 7,859 lbs., so I would expect your curb weight to be less since it is a short bed.

As long as you keep an eye on any added accessories and cargo you add to the truck and trailer, which includes passengers. We have a 310GK also and would not do it without a DRW as a SRW would be too close to going over the payload capacity. Depending on the hitch purchased can also be a big factor, one of the typical traditional hitches can weigh upwards of 200 pounds by itself. I recently spoke with another owner of a 310GK with a SRW and now regrets not getting a DRW because it has limited the amount of cargo he can add.

Yes I have been doing all the research. I use the truck as a daily drive so did not want the drw. At 3600 lbs I should be ok as just the DW and a small dog. Currently seeing if I can get my head round an Anderson hitch with the ccsb and all the implications of angles, cab clearance and bed rails. Even with a pullrite superglide at 3600 lbs should be ok being prudent with loading.
