How Far Did You Travel To Pick Up Your Trailer?

We travelled about 380 miles one way. Ocala to Atlanta and back. While the local dealer had the model, he didn't have the options the wife wanted. And while we had many starts and stops including covid which put a hold on everything for about a month, we managed to get the trailer home. The biggest hassle was many issues noted on the PDI will now have to be handled by the local dealer which is a giant PIA. Seems like the weak link is always the service department.

From Gainesville GA to South Carolina about 120 miles on I-85 one way.
They had the best price and although the service is not perfect it is ok.

After a recent visit to Northgate RV I can understand why you would travel that far. The wife and I visited recently just
to check out the new models. After telling the rep we were just window shopping he said no problem. He gave us a cart and told us to
look as long as we wanted. After we spent several hours looking we returned the cart and he provided us with brochures on the models we liked.
If we ever move up they will get our business.

We went from Albuquerque, NM to Ringgold, GA just buy ours from Northgate; about 1400 miles one way. Mike, our sales guy, was great, and no nonsense. He quoted a price for us for the dual pane windows, the Torklift Revolution GlowSteps, Splendide washer and dryer, the MORRyde Rubber Pin Box, and the B&W Champion hitch for it 2019 F350 with an 8' bed. I was surprised as his quote came in about $20K LESS than anywhere else. Plus, they were the only ones that responded when I put out an RFQ for what we wanted. I did ask about negotiating room and Mike was honest and told me that they offer the lowest price they can initially, because they don't believe in stringing a customer along with the negotiation tactics.

When we arrived to do it PDI, it was raining and cold, Mike told us, "take all the time you need". It was also during our PDI that he did it walkthrough with us to familiarize us with the coach.

I know we are extremely happy with Mike and Northgate RV; and with our Grand Design Reflection 320MKS!

Portland Oregon to Ashland Virginia... General RV. Actually bought on line, Solitude 374TH, last year made in the Solitude, 2019. Was the closest to us, the only other one left was in Maine. Well over 3000 miles in 8 days hauling biggest U-Haul we could get. Had sold the house of 25 years, were jumping into full timing without having any ownership experience, very little RVing ever... Foolhardy? Perhaps but we're 10k miles down the road with no regrets! Been lucky. Grand adventure with our Grand Design.
