Diesel or Gas engine? Guessing Diesel?
I have a 2022 Chevy 2500 LTZ 4X4 6.6D w/ally - our numbers are close, but mine numbers are a tick higher: GCWR 27,500, Gooseneck 18,500, Payload 3268, etc.
Wonder what changed between 2021 or 2022 or what's the difference between a GMC vs Chevy?
I spent time trying to find the "heaviest 3/4 ton" as I could find. Most one tons I found were within 200-230 lbs of the 3/4 ton I bought.

I pull my 2021 303rls with a 2021 Silverado 2500hd Duramax. It pulls it great and is within its payload capacity.

I have been following this thread waiting to read if you got your answer.
This type of question always seems to just muddy things up even more for folks that are wondering the same thing because the stickers will not always match up.
IMO going to a 3500 will only reduce ride quality and maybe reduce TV weight capacity these newer Ram trucks are really not far apart in torque and ability to tow. That is the fly in the ointment, older versus newer models of the same same vehicle. Is this a work truck or an every day driver? Bigger for work and just right for everyday driver.
Using my set up as an example of why things can get confusing;
Mfg. sticker: Front GVWR 5200 lbs., Rear GVWR 6340, Ford GVWR states for my vehicle 10000 lbs. right on the sticker. The numbers don’t add up! And throw in the tire payload sticker and that won’t add up either. It comes down to which set of numbers will you what to see and no one is incorrect.
For me it comes down to what is the actual weight coming to bare on the axels and is it inside the total GVWR of each individual unit TV and or TT.2017 F-250 6.7 2019 273 MK

Everyone:
I know this has been talked about, but I’m still undecided. As mentioned in a previous comment I’ve had no problem pulling my 303 with my 2015 Ram 2500 diesel. With that said, I am ready to make the jump to a 3500. I know I’m always on the edge with payload but seem to be doing OK. The dealership completed a worksheet for a 2022 Ram 3500 diesel SRW Laramie Crew cab short bed 6.7 I6 HO Turbo with the Aisin AS69RC HO Transmission. I’m asking myself is the Aisin Trans with the HO diesel necessary or just the standard Cummins diesel with the standard transmission or would the gas model be as good for my trailer and purposes. Besides for saving some money, and for GAS mileage. We aren’t full timers but camp often when the Utah weather permits. I believe the payload with gas would be better. I can’t seem to get a straight answer or find it online what the payload for the above mentioned rams would exactly be. They quoted $80,000 for the HO Cummins Ram and $46,000 for my trade-in. The 46,000 could change by the time the new truck came in. I guess I’m looking for someone to push me on which of the 3 above options is the best to go with. I’m sure most would say the HO turbo. Again thinking of the gas mileage or maybe stay with what I have. Thanks for any comments.

Does the 3500 GM/Chevy have a higher payload than a 3500 Ram? Does anybody know if there is a significant higher payload in a 3500 vs 2500? I have been contemplating upgrading my 2016 Duramax, primarily because I want to get away from the dreaded CP4 fuel pump, but that's a topic for another thread... came across a 2021 Ram 2500 Laramie with the Cummins today but it only has a payload of 1991 lbs.... that's just too low, and 336 lbs less than my current Duramax.
