That is true for Travel Trailers and 5th wheels but not truck/cars.

Actually the car/truck payload sticker includes a full tank of gas, all fluids topped off and no driver or passengers.

I verified that 3 times on CAT scale with my 3 recent F-350's.

My current 2020 F-350 GVWR is 11,500 lbs and the truck weighed 8020 lbs on the CAT scale with full fuel with a payload sticker of 3,483 lbs .

My other 2 F-350s weighed 8000 and 7980 lbs on CAT Scale with full fuel and no people, and they had Payload of 3500 and 3523 lbs

It seems that CAT Scales may round to the nearest 20 lbs

Try this explanation of how to figure payload. The site is from a company which makes work bodies for trucks.

Are you sure about the hybrid? My brother isn’t happy. 2019 3.5l Tt Ecoboost w/ Max towing performed better.

Huh, interesting. My 2019 F350 when I weighed it by itself, then calculated the payload capacity, it ate about 570 lbs of my CCC. There was nothing in the truck, except what it came with and all the fluids topped off. I dunno. (This was also the first time I ever weighed a vehicle at the CAT scales.)

Do you know any specifics about what he doesn't like? Based on the numbers, the hybrid should perform better but I get they are just numbers.

A few things: 1. The hoped for increase in MPG is minimal - both in towing and not towing. 2. Turning radius is greater in hybrid (no idea why from Ford). 3. Mechanical issues - blown transmission seal, engine battery defective. He does like the 110/220v bed outlet. Two months new.

Huh. That's disappointing. I follow a number of other new powerboost owners and most seem to be happy with theirs. But it's certainly a game of chance with any new vehicle. I've had issues with Fords and Chevys over the years. But this gives me more to think about while I wait for the vehicle to show up. It's been 4 months now and no indication as to when it might make production...

    F-150 Powerboost

I just bought a 2021 F-150 SuperCrew 4x4 with the Powerboost engine and Maxtow package 3.73 axle (but only have 28g gas tank). Payload capacity 1580 on my door sticker. GVWR 7350. According to Ford info 11000lb towing capacity.
I also bought a 22RBE (26ft). Drove from Tampa FL to Macon GA to pick up the trailer. 20.3 MPG on the way up keeping to mostly 75 MPH. Return trip with the trailer 7.7 MPG keeping to 70MPH
First time driving a pickup with a TT (yes a noob). Have a Recurve R3 WD hitch with 1000lb bars. Towed pretty easily. Plenty of acceleration and easy braking. Of course the trip was mostly flat. Did feel a little pull when those big rigs flew by by not enough to cause any real sway.
Heading to the Smoky Mountains in a month so I'm sure things will be different there.
I tried out the generator on the truck and ran everything in the trailer without getting near the max. Using 30A generator to RV cord so only 3600W available of the 7,200W output of the truck

    Any tips of suggestions. Opinions?
    Thanks

Your 1560 seems light. I have 2060, but only have a SuperCab and no generator. My only advice would be to slow down! Going 65 instead of 70 will give you 2 more mpg. I usually go 63 and get over 10 mpg. Another plus to slower speed is less wind. I hardly ever notice 18 wheelers at 63. There is a sweet spot 63-64 where you will get the best ride and gas millage.
