    UPDATE:
    Well I lagged on purchasing from Amazon, and no longer available [emoji3525].

    Well I am now building piecemeal.

    Just scored a Victron 100/50 Smart Solar Controller for 200 bucks out the door.

    Now looking at solar panels. Looking at the Newpowa 200 watt 9bb panels for 203 bucks each. Looking at 4 for a total of 800 watts.

    Total price so far would be:
    Victron 100/50 Solar Charge controller: $203
    Newpowa 200 watt 9bb Solar panels: $203 each for a total of $812 plus tax (approx 900 otd).

    At $1103 so far.

    Add Z brackets, shrink tube, various connectors (Solar and others) $100, wires and lugs, misc hardware, plywood, Dicor, eternabond another $300. That puts me at $1503 for an 800 watt Solar System!

    That is phase 1
    Phase 2 is 400 amp hours of Lifepo4 battery
    Phase 3 is 3k inverter

    Thanks,
    Bill

    That's a great system you've put in place. Mine is very similar except one more 200 watt panel. We just tested it boondocking for 3 days last week at Dillon Reservoir in Colorado. Ran the electric coffee percolator every morning (draws 73 amps off batteries through inverter) until its done brewing, then maybe an amp or 2. Also ran the microwave for a minute or 2 each morning and that draws approximately 143 amps. All that after supplying 12 volt power to the furnace cycling on and off throughout the night. One of the best things is that the lithium batteries were fully charged by 11am each day!!! I think you'll be very happy with your system.

    This is the exact system I have hooked into 3-100 amp lithium and a Victron Multiplex 3000z inverter/ charger. Victron is much better than the Amazon/ Renogy and used worldwide as a preference by long range cruising sailors.

    Extremely happy with the setup.

    Also wanted to add that I used both brands of 200 watt solar panels, (3) Newpowa and (2) Rich solar in a parallel system and just looking at both brands, the cell configurations look identical. But, before I connected them, I checked voltage output out of the 2 differant brands. The Rich solar panels were approximately one or almost two volts higher than the Newpowa panels but amperage after connecting to system was very close to each other, nearly 10 amps around 1pm on a full sunny day in April. To be fair, the Newpowa panels were about 18 months old and the Rich solar panels were brand new. Before this test, I intentionally loaded up the lithiums so that they were low and needed to be recharged.
    Then in late May when the sun was nearly overhead around noon when the batteries were low on charge, the five 200 watt panels showed 52 amps total charging and less than an hour later, the batteries were fully charged. I hope this info helps.

    800 watt Rich Solar kit from Amazon

    Started getting all my stuff.

    Panels, wire, lugs, ferrules, shrink tube, z-brackets, Alpha self leveling compound, Eternabond, MP4 connectors.

    Still waiting on charge controller, fuses, shunt, on/off switches.

    Going to try for 4ga in the Victron 100/50. They say 6 is the largest, but people have reported they can squeeze the 4 in.

    Did some math, hoping the experts can validate my math…

    New Powa 200 watt panels
    vmp= 18.6v
    imp=10.75a
    Voc=21.8v
    isc=11.7a

    2s2p configuration

    Serial String = 43.6v @ 10.75a
    Parallel = 43.6 @ 23.4a (into charge controller)

    Using voc & isc.

    Bill, that's gonna be a nice system, 400 watts and because of the large wire size you can easily add more panels to your system as long as that charge controller has capacity. Let you know how it works out.

    Thanks 440scout, it’s actually 800 watts, 2 serial strings of 400 watts. Over paneled by about 100 watts for the controller, but it should be ok. Max input is 60 amps, never gonna see that much, I doubt the system will ever be 100% efficient.
