Powerboost vs 3/4 ton
I currently own an xlt powerboost with over 1600lbs of payload. We have are looking into an imagine 2600rb which is bigger than our current 2250. I’m not worried about the powerboost towing it. I am worried about losing our quiet hours generator though if I wore to upgrade to a larger truck. But I would like to know peoples opinions on the trade offs. It’s a small crew so I know I’ll have payload to spare and the truck is fully cable of the trailer max capacity. We are planning a very extended rv trip and can think of pros and cons for both trucks when boondocking is involved. generator or solar solutions are welcome as well. Thanks in advance

Did you mean "EcoBoost" in a Ford F150?

I have to agree with @NB Canada - payload is the issue... not the engine or powertrain.

I don't really see the 2600RB being all that much heavier or longer that it would be much different towing.
Apples to apples in that you load the 2600RB the same way as far as gear and stuff then you're really only adding 80lb to the trucks payload and 250 lbs to the TT weight. The 2600RB is only 1.7" longer so that's a non issue.
Based on the fact that you said your current TT tows fine I don't see getting the 2600RB being an issue.

I just looked and the 2600RB has a tongue weight of 594# and a GVWR of 7850#. With 10% tongue weight at max load you would be around 800# hitch weight, put on an appropriate Weight Distributing Hitch and you should be well under the maximum load for that pickup.

Powerboost vs 3/4 ton
Have you ever actually weighed your rig or are you using numbers from the door?
My Sierra has more payload than your Ford and my 2400bh has me at max payload
I maintain a heavy TW which helps the trailer track effortlessly. My pass through has a lot of heavy gear in it
It drives perfectly and zero issue. I think you will be perfectly fine as well with the larger trailer but only mentioned you will be at payload if you care2021 Imagine 2400 BH
