    Leak with freezing weather

    Wow, that is a great idea. I'm new to Grand Design and have just encountered my first issue. It is going to freeze here in SC for the next couple days so my valves are open and I turned the facets to drip and went to my daughter's house. Got a call yesterday that the belly was leaking water. It had backed up into the shower and overflowing into the main area. I immediately called the previous owner about it and he said he had no idea what would have caused it until his wife said she thought there were 3 tanks. Ugg. But they couldn't tell me where the pull was. I'm really worried that my pipes are going to freeze. I reported the issue to my insurance company already. So do you know where the 2nd Grey water lever is?

    This is an old thread. It probably would be better to start a new post with your issue, you would get more reply's that way, and include what model of RV you have, (like Solitude 3350RL )specific model makes a difference as to how many tanks there are and where the dump handles are.

    Post moved to its own thread in plumbing and water systems. As @Steven@147, starting your own thread in the proper subforum is usually a better option than trying to tag onto an old thread.

    As Steve also said, knowing which specific RV you have would help us help you better. That said, leaving tank drain valves open and water running in sub-freezing temps is a recipe for trouble. As soon as the draining water exits the heated underbelly, it hits the stinky slinky (sewer hose) and starts to freeze. It doesn't take long to build up an ice dam and the tanks to quit draining. When leaving an RV unattended in freezing weather, it's best to shut off the water at the park source, depressurize your RV water system, and leave the furnace set to about 50 deg.

    I'm sorry, I'm new and didn't know where to ask the question.

    @LMSLES93 -

    No harm, no foul - we all have to start somewhere.

    Here are a few forum tips:

    1) If you use "Reply With Quote" (to the right of "Reply") as I have here, folks will know to whom you are responding and that person will get a notification.

    2) You can also tag folks using the "@" symbol and their user name (as I have done yours) - they'll also get a notification that way.

    3) If you choose to get a paid membership (nominal cost and well worth it), you can create a signature block with your RV and tow vehicle information (see mine below). That way you won't have to repeat that information whenever you post or ask a question - and others won't have to ask. You can create a signature by going to:

    Forum Actions (on menu bar) -> Edit Profile -> Edit Signature (under My Settings on the left)

    You can also read over Helpful Hints and Instructions here:
