When you're planning on staying at Ontario Provincial Parks, don't plan on arriving without a reservation and hope for an available site. You'll never get in. Ontario Parks sites can be reserved 5 months in advance of your arrival.

One other thing - Wawa is the last stop for gas, groceries, beer, liquor etc. until Sault. St. Marie to the south, which about 200 km (120 miles). Agawa Bay campground is about 85km (50 miles) from Wawa

I've listed and read some must stops on the Ontario side. This will be our first time in Michigan, any must and should do in Michigan?

Thanks again for all this information. Will digest and consider the options.

For trailryder and Ynot4me2, Michigan State Parks are generally very nice. Most have level paved or gravel sites with electricity. And Sleepy Bear Dunes National Lakeshore (Plate River Campground) is very nice on the Lake Michigan side - a National Park Campground (https://www.nps.gov/slbe/planyourvis...erivercamp.htm). Otsego Lake near Gaylord (golf mecca), Interlocken State Park near Traverse City, and Multiple State Parks along the Lake Michigan shoreline all are great options. Just realize you will need to fill water and dump waste on arrival and departure. Reservations are needed and you can check out the parks at: https://midnrreservations.com. You can spend weeks exploring northern Michigan area.

Thanks again, and safe travels to all.

Last I checked, Sleeping Giant PP leaves somewhere around 30% of the park as first come first served. I have never reserved there. May Long weekend and Canada Day weekends are jammed full.

Some of you have mentioned that the power pedestal at the Canadian Parks are quite a distance. I have my standard power cord which is 25-30 foot long, and another 25 foot extension. Do I need two extension cords?

    Thanks - mjg

I camp almost exclusively at Ontario Parks snd carry 100’ of cord. I suggest more cord , another 50’ would be my suggestion.

There is an organization that promotes this to motorcyclists. If you google it, they have a good pamphlet that outlines things to do/see along the entire tour. I think they have some special swag, etc. for people if you like that kind of thing.

Upper Peninsula and not just MI. We will be staying along the shorelines.
