    Garbage 120v receptacles

Looking for more permanent repairs that have been done for the 120v RV receptacles that are cracking and falling apart. I’m going to try and replace the receptacles that have room behind them with boxes made for new drywall type boxes. Not sure what I’m going to do with those that don’t have enough room behind them for replacement home style boxes. Anyone have a good solution?

Been there done that. Just got done swapping out the OEM bath wall receptacle with an existing construction limited clearance box and black duplex 120v outlet and face plate. Looks just like OEM, but, is better quality.

Dont have a solution for anything that maybe less than 2.5" (I think?) - which I used for the replacement in the bath/hallway wall next to the sink/mirror.

I replaced quite a few in my 399. Just get the shallow "old work" single gang box and a residential outlet, problem solved.

Everyone should change out the fireplace outlet as soon as possible.
    Use a residential type.

This is no big deal. Use old work boxes and where not enough depth surface mounts. Wiremold is the brand you can find in retail big box. You may need to go to a real electrical supply for more choices and colors.

Hey, all brands use these type outlets.
There is no RV industry standard.

I hear ya…..but I have many other non-electrical quality issues though. Guess that’s probably also common in the RV industry, too.
    Just disenchanted

It's not so much the outlets that are an issue but the installation. Over-torquing of the mounting screws is what causes the stress fractures. Also, improper stripping of the wires and too much force pushing them into the contacts inside can/will cause issues. I've replace about four of them with the same type taking take to install them properly... not an issue with any of them since.
