Your Post-Winter Checklist?
It's snowing and worse here at the top of Vermont, but we're thinking about our friend "Pep," our 2670MK TT sitting nice and (relatively) warm in Georgia.
In April, we'll be traveling down to pick her up, de-winterize her and start on our first road trip to the Nachez Trace and then back over to the Tennessee GD Rally.
My question is a general one: In addition to the normal de-winterizing checklist you run (draining antifreeze, sterilizing water systems, re-installing batteries and propane tanks, etc.), what items do you check before you take your rig on the road for its first trip of the year?
I have a few, but feel I'm leaving out several mechanical systems I need to inspect:
- Inspect leaf springs and suspension
- Grease bearings (re-pack every other year)
- Wipe down both fridges with bleach
- Lubricate window seals with 3-in-1
- Open and check slide-outs, toppers, and awnings for any mold or discoloration
- Inspect all tiresDarren & Lynne

First I check for signs of mice and deal with it if there is.
Remember to bring the trailer battery(s) with you...if it's in the trailer already be equipped to deal with the possibility of a dead battery...it happens.
I run the furnace and water heater to verify they are working. Fire up the fridge make sure it still cools down.
Check propane tanks because I have gone out knowing 100% that the tanks were full....and they weren't...
Open slides and vacuum/clean/dust. sometimes I extend the awnings and give them a rinse.
Grease the wet bolts if you have.2018 Dodge 3500 6.7 Cummins SRW w/Aisin
