Question Pictures of heating ductwork falling apart

I wanted to ask if it is okay for us to have temporarily fixed the issue with our heat ductwork, since we needed heat for a cold snap. We called the dealership and told them while we were camping, we had no heat blowing in the bedroom or bathroom, so we bought ductwork metal tape and temporarily fixed it. Well, the dealership said they are supposed to be the ones to take the pics, so they don't think that GD will pay for the repair...... I took detailed pictures, and this was the first time we have camped in our brand new Solitude and we had to use the heat, thank goodness, or we would not have known until the next winter. Will GD cover the real repair, since all we did was fix it so we could at least use it, the items shown in the pix definitely need to be replaced, and are flaws in the materials used. There was 2 places where it unraveled. Now we have heat in the bathroom and bedroom.

I sure hope we did not shoot ourselves in the foot, by doing a temp fix.....

    Thanks for any response,

I had to do a temporary fix on our Reflection until they come up with a better way to fasten it. It's a different failure mode, but I can't fathom Grand Design not covering this.

    Hi Shawn and Jeanette (@sjegee1),

Implementing a temporary fix was the right thing to do, and will not jeopardize final repair coverage under your warranty.

    Best regards,
    ~ Janice

    Hi Shawn and Jeanette:

I'm disappointed in the workmanship of the duct work photos that you posted. I'm sorry this happened on your Solitude. I forwarded them to the President and the Solitude General Manager to share with our production and quality assurance team.

    Take care,

    Bill Fenech
