Bedroom Reading Light Question

We have a 2020 Imagine 2970RL. The reading lights have a nightlight option, but the nightlight comes on with the first button press, so I blast the reading light at my sleeping hubby to turn it off. Has anyone modified the wiring so that the reading light comes on first and the nightlight comes on second?

If you keep pressing the button for a few seconds it will turn off the blue light without turning on the bright light.
