    No filter for heater

Does anyone find it odd that there is no filtration on the heating system in RV's?

Yes, but it would be a PIA to get to it due to the way the return air routing/system is designed and the location of the furnace.

Agreed, My 3540GK-R had 2 open returns, I had to "box" them out and put filtered return grills in, I made sure to have more filter space than the size restriction 2 12"X12" so as not to have flow issues.

RV furnaces are not designed to operate with filters. Home HVAC units usually include AC coils in the air pathway which are much more susceptible to dust accumulation and clogging. RV furnaces only have the heat exchanger which is pretty large-bore.

Unless they started actually ducting the return air, the return is wide open to the utility space in the basement and draws from everywhere. The only way to filter all the return air is to put a filter on the furnace itself.

Makes sense, I just don't like circulating the dust and dirt. Did the same thing on a Heritage Glenn, it stayed a lot cleaner...
