    High Wind Safety

Relatively new full timers going through high wind gusts in North Texas. Is it better to retract the sliders? Or does having them out give better stability? Thanks

If the gusts are making you nervous you couls add water to the fresh tank for extra center weight. We've been through some heavy winds and have not been tipped over yet. What are the wind speeds you are facing?

Slides in our out shouldn't/doesn't make much difference. We weathered constant winds of 45 MPH with higher gusts in central and west Texas in our 337. We had winds approaching 70 MPH at an Escapees park in southern California. The rig rocked a little, but never went anywhere. We didn't have slide toppers on the Reflection but do on the Solitude. We now pull in the slides to protect the toppers if the winds get much above 45 MPH. As @WhittleBurner suggested, a full fresh water tank adds a fair bit of ballast down near the keel.

It was a fast moving storm north of Denton Tx with gusts reported by DFW of 70mph in our area. We had the awnings out, trying to enjoy the cool 104 afternoon when the wind hit HARD. Frantically pulled the awnings in and was lucky there’s no damages.
Thanks for responding, I like the idea of adding water to the fresh tank.

Thanks for replying. We had 70 mph gusts which had us wondering. I like @WhittleBurner’s idea of adding water.
