Mounting a bedroom TV in 303RLS

We have a 2014 303RLS and the TV mounting panel is on the right side of the bedroom as you enter the bedroom and just past the open door as you enter on the starboard side. My questions is if anyone has mounted a bedroom TV in that unit (2014 303RLS) and had issues getting past it in the middle of the night? Also, If it works, any suggestions on the brand I should choose? I want one with a DVD or blue ray player built in as there is no room to add one and we don't always stay in parks with cable TV. I checked with Best Buy and they only carry one brand, Westinghouse, which the salesman told me to stay away from them.

I don't have the same model but my tv is also mounted on the passenger side. I use a MorRyde TV1-025H. It's very robust and locks in place when traveling. We've mounted a 32" tv to that which works out well. The problem with the bedroom tv location is the awning of the window prevents you from using too large a tv.

For media we use an android box and a portable hard drive. There are lots of solutions out there. You could use a Raspberry Pi and run a Plex network for the entire trailer. The android box keeps it very simple. I load up all my files that I may want to watch while on a trip onto a small portable 4 Tb HD and just run that through an android box. The android box is velcro'd to the wall so it's out of the way. The android box can also be mounted with velcro.

As for brand of tv, really it's your choice. We have a Samsung 32". LG and Vizio also make good sets. Westinghouse is a cheap Chinese brand that took over the defunct American Westinghouse label. But honestly most tv's look pretty decent when you're watch HD. The biggest difference is in black levels. LG and Samsung tend to have better black levels. The way to test is is to watch a dark scene. Do you see detail in the dark scene or is it all just one mishmash of gray/black?

If you like to read tests you can try this website: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/best/by-size/32-inch

As a 303 owner recognizing the curb side of the bed is extremely narrow to walk through, we elected not to install a bedroom TV for that very reason. We have not missed it. If I were to mount a TV, I would consider a retractable/swivel mount. TV size would be second over the mount style.

We have had one since day one. No problem getting by at any time. Our TV and mount move flush to the exterior wall when not in use. Attached pictures of the DVD/TV combo we have and the mount used. I thought I had pictures of it mounted when on the wall but do not. Next time we use it, I will take some pictures. We remove it from the mount when traveling or not using which is more often than not.

A number of folks (Gary and Marcy too as I recall @WhittleBurner )have mounted TVs in 2014 and later year 303s with no complaints or issues as I recall.

We also used the MorRyde tv mount in our vintage 303, it is worth the exrea cost. Locking during travel. If you fall asleep with it extended and get up during the night and wack your head it will likely only happen once and after that you will automatically push it back to the wall as you pass by. We only have a 26" tv and it fits and moves well with the door in the open position. Never saw the need for a larger tv in there . It sn't on long and not often we watch different things and need to go to the bedroom to watch different shows.

Use a strong magnet to id where the edges of the panel are, center the tv mark it then measure the back mounting are to center the mount within the panel. Not really very difficult.

BTW, always use a drill stop when drilling through. You don't want to accidentally go through and perforate the exterior wall!

LOL Good tip. I believe that I will do a lot more research. I would like to look more into TheLexx's suggestions as I'm not the tech person that he obviously is but I'm blessed that my son in law is and would know exactly what you're talking about. We've also discussed just forgoing the TV in the bedroom. As we get older we tend to wake up in the middle of the night and sometimes it's nice to watch TV.
I guess its age talking now. I remember camping in a tent and if you woke up, you just laid there until you fell back asleep.
I will try and post again with updates when we decide what to do.

    To Marcy and Gary,
A 26" TV works fine. Did you have any kind of DVD player mounted as well or was it just a TV with cable?

Just a TV, no dvd player and occasionally cable. We mostly rely on the antenna. Also can stream off the tablet using the hdmi plug. About the only time we watch TV in the bedroom is the rare occasion we want to watch something different and a little bit before falling asleep .

A helpful forum tip for you, if you use the reply wth quote the person you are replying to will get an email and also others will know who you are replying to .
