New Trailer and Truck

Hello,

We are Greg and Colleen Gates and live in Albuquerque, NM. We picked up a new 2020 Solitude 344GK in January (ordered it in Sept) to replace our 2007 Crossroads Cruiser TT. My wife is retired and I am near,so this is our retirement road warrior. Because we went to a larger RV, I HAD to replace my 2008 F350 SD SRW with a new 2019 F350 SD DRW. Because this is our "last" (sorry Grand Design) RV, we went for all the upgrades available, and then some. Full Body Paint, Dual Pane Windows, ... And we had the Reese 20k Goose Box installed. Only thing we didn't get was a built in generator or solar (that's why full hookups were invented). We also have a 90 gal fuel tank in the truck, so stopping between sites is mostly optional. We generally travel with our daughter and the grandkids (in their own trailer of course ), but are looking forward to extended trips (if I can figure out how to retire).

Thanks. I had the Hensley hitch on my TT and loved it. But the Hensley 5th wheel was so heavy, I decided to go with Reese GB instead. We considered the 310, but I really liked the desk in the 344. What's your opinion on the disk brakes? Worth the $?

We have very limited experience with them so far (1,200 miles) so my opinion isn't worth much. But, I did need to step on the brakes harder than I wanted a couple times during those 1,200 miles and the brakes worked really well. I think that's where they show their true value - in emergencies. I think all RV's should have them. How many cars now days have drum brakes???
