Issues gravity filling my 348M to winterize
I am a new owner of a GD 348M and since I live up at 6700 feet I need to winterize the coach. I followed the instructions and drained the holding tank and low drain points. I then connected a short hose to the city inlet connection and then set the Nautilus-P1 levers as shown for winterizing then turn on the pump. I can hear the pump working, but it is not siphoning. I called GD and talked with them and they said I need to put some water back in the holding tank because the pump lost prime. Since I do not have a pressurized water source close I tried to siphon from a container of water and it does not work. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the forum. You dont need to put anything in the FW tank. You need to remove the inlet screen on the city water connection and flip it around backwards. This will push on the check valve and allow you to siphon out of the antifreeze bottle. Dont forget to put it back to its original configuration when you're done.

FWIW, I just now came in from winterizing our Momentum, and the pump had no issues with sucking the antifreeze our of the bottle. I didn't mess with the inlet, just dropped the hose in the tank and put it up in the wet well. I worked as I would expect it to work. Maybe just lucky.

I believe the root cause is the instructions telling people to drain water out of the system first. This gets rid of the pumps prime. I believe.

I had this a while back, tried everything (including suggestions above), couldn't get it to prime - no matter what.
I climbed into the pass-thu and accessed the pump. I disconnected the inlet side of the pump from the pump and saw that there was no water (or pink) at the pump. I unscrewed the pump from the floor (only 4 screws) and then I used a small water bottled and poured the water backwards into the line running to the (inlet side of the )pump. Holding the line high, I raised the pump up and screwed the line back into the pump. I then screwed the pump back down.
Flicked the switch and got my prime back.Lyndon
