Often not. The wiring via the trailer plug and trailer wiring is small enough that there is a significant voltage drop from the alternator to the trailer. No matter how much current you have available, you can’t make it flow to the battery if you can’t get a voltage to it higher than the current battery voltage.

This is the reason people use DC-DC converters and large gauge wiring to the trailer.

I didn't know what else to call them....it's the 4 red lights that light up when you hold in the battery button on the control panel that indicates the state of charge in the battery.

Do you check the lights after you turn the battery disconnect switch back on? You may need to actually check the voltage with a VOM and ascertain exactly what the battery charge is. Those lights may not be all that accurate. Just a thought.

Something is wrong with the battery, if you are totally disconnecting it. They do self discharge. Heat speeds it up. But even in Texas/Arizona in the summer you should get several months before much of a charge is needed. In cooler weather at least 6 months. I've has some here in Minn. go over a year, and still be at 80% charge - but our really cold winters help with getting that long of a period.

I'll admit, when in storage I sometimes stop by and check things out, and usually operate a slide out and a few lights so I might be knocking off some of the charge.
    This is likely the issue

The lights are just not very accurate. A battery monitor is MUCH better.
