Roof leak of some kind from 2016 with pics
I have a 2016 GR Imagine M-2800BH. I bought from a gentleman about a month ago. I noticed a soft spot in the roof while I was washing it and needless to say,,,,we have a problem. From the pictures, do you think it might somehow be coming from the AC in some way? Dont have a clue and would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you

Welcome to the forum. I'd say it doesnt look so good. My guess is the AC mounting bolts loosened up (they need periodic torquing) and the roof material wasnt fully covering all 4 sides of the hole (I've seen plenty of examples of this, you can even see it on one of your pictures for one of the non-removed portions of roof membrane). That combination would allow rain water or any condensate slippage direct access to the roof under the membrane. Have you owned it while its rained? I wonder if any water drips down during a big storm. Might want to consider an insurance claim, roof replacements arent cheap.

Well your thoughts just solidify my thinking. Does the roof membrane folds need to come down and staple into the sides of the ac opening?

Is there a specific recommended torque for these A/C bolts?

I think @Ynot4me2 meant in-lbs, the number is close if I recall, best to check your owners manual or look it up online for your model AC, but it is not much torque that is needed.

According to the RV Airflow installation video the Dometic AC should be torqued to 40-50;INCH PDS, not FT Pds.
Look at just after the 7 min 30 second mark of this video.

Even 40 seemed a lot when I did my install.Last edited by Jerryr; 02-21-2022 at 07:30 PM.
