    Check those dump valves

Well the snow is finally gone from around the trailer here due to a recent heatwave allowing me under the trailer for the first time
Went to check the dump valves and the two in the back were seized solid.
They were all pitted once I got them freed
Will sand them and apply some oil later in the year
I feel I am not going to like these cable driven valves

So to others get some lubricants on those pulls if you haven’t

I agree about the lube. I’ve read here and elsewhere to lube each time out camping which I have done. Keeping my fingers crossed they don’t seize up over winter.

Mine is brand new so it was a wee disappointing to see them seized
Never had that issue on my past trailer with direct valves
The other issue is the thin long tin for the valves. You can’t just pull because it just bends the tab

I use Blaster penetrating lub several times a year and so far no problems. Use it when you can open and close valves several times. Seems to work better than anything else I have found.

I also use PB Blaster a few times a year. I have a small can in the RV, so I can spray the pull shafts while the valve is open and get it farther back in there. I think any kind of oil would work, more important to get something on there than what.

Where on the dump valves are you referring to that pitted and should be lubricated? The 4-6 inches of aluminum rod at the T handles?
