    Howard,
I can see why you couldn't sleep. My head starts to hurt a bit when I look at the pictures of the OEM wiring at the auto reset circuit breakers and try to understand how their wired.

    Brian,
I didn't know that about the circuit breakers, hadn't even thought the gold/silver color terminal's meaning.
    Learn something all the time.

On the OEM picture the red wire from the battery , this also has a black wire with it as well , this black wire is for the emergency break away for the brakes, this needs to stay this way.
It is also important to determine the charge wire from the truck plug , this needs to be hooked to the battery circuit if you are going to use that for charging while driving also, this should go thru a circuit breaker before going to the battery circuit so if there is a problem the breaker will trip and not damage the battery , I learned this also.

Thanks, Brian--I'll fix the diagrams in the post.

Hi Howard . . . I am also following your project . . . you are making my head hurt as well . . . but, this is great reference/discussion for all of us !
Your wiring diagrams attached to post 139 can't be opened for some reason.
Have you considered putting this whole story into a pdf for the Library, when you get done? (Would be a great story to have, all in one place!)

I just now updated the attachments to reflect Brian's input.

Yes, when I'm done I'll edit the entire thing down to a "Reader's Digest" version and will post in the Reference Library. First, though, I have to keep all the blue smoke in the wires...if I'm successful then I'll work on the summary.

Edit: I think the charge wire needs to be protected by the 400A fuse. If not, if the charge wire shorted I'd have four batteries worth of energy shorting to the trailer frame. Not a pretty scenario. Changing again...

Yes, Howard......my head hurts too ! I am continually amazed at the talent and expertise from a number of our members. The wheels constantly spinning in all the talented engineer minds is one of the great mysteries of the universe. We mere mortals are in constant learning phase !

Just giving a shout out to Steve @sc7903 , he corrected me when I did my disconnect rework on the circuit breakers.
Howard the diagram looks better. Not sure if it really matters , but i aslo think the recall on my trailer may have someting to do with the one circuit breaker being upside down.

    Back to topic.

Day 4 - Made some progress..

Front of the pass-thru is reassembled except for the GFCI--not sure which set of wires is line and which is load. Outlet's directions said it is important, so I'll wait until I apply power and then check the wires to see which one has power. That one will be the line. I stuffed the wires into the box so I could take this "beauty picture".

Wired up the batteries and temp installed the wires. To keep the batteries from moving all over the place while I wired them I used dual-lock tape to secure pairs together. Worked great. The second picture below shows where the batteries will live. The view is looking down into the pass-thru while standing in the bedroom. (The access panel from the bedroom to the pass-thru is a standard feature on a 315RLTS.)

If you look closely at the top side of each battery (near the post) there is a built-in place to use a strap to hold the battery down. Fran pointed that out to me--I had completely overlooked that feature. (The strap configuration in this picture is all wrong. Sheesh.)

Finally, started figuring out the final install configuration for all of the components. Still changing where things are going as the reality of working with the actual components drives changes.

Howard, you might want to consider hanging one of these behind your bulkhead if there is any fire concern. $29 is pretty cheap fire suppression.
