    Where oh where?

    Two questions. 2020 2450RL used.

    1. I removed the front panel where the circuit breakers and fuses are mainly to check tightness of connections. What I think is the stock controller is under the CB’s and fuses. Has a fan on the side. How would one determine the specs of the controller? Want to know if it can charge lithium properly or not.

    2. I want to find installed solar controller. Where would that be?

    1. I think your reference to controller is really the converter. It is designed for lead acid batteries and really should be changed for a lithium based converter for proper charging. The stock one will provide a charge to a lithium battery, but it's certainly not the proper charger.

    2. Unless your camper came with a solar package (not just the prewired solar port), then it wouldn't have a solar controller.

Thanks. So. What does that 10 AMP solar port on the side do?

It should go to wires near the battery (mine weren't actually hooked up to the battery). I think it's designed for a small portable solar panel, but the current limit and size of wire are too small for a substantial solar setup. It's more for marketing so it can be claimed as 'solar ready'. I'd venture to say the majority of people have no use for it. Some people converted it to a 12v dc outlet, for electric smokers and things of that nature.

Excellent idea on the 12 volt conversion. Thank you!

Also, I realized I was calling the AC to DC a controller. I meant converter. I'm assuming that is the dodad I was referring to under the CB's and fuses.

Yes, you are correct, it is the converter. You can search on here for ideas on ones for lithium, the Progressive Dynamics is a popular choice.
