Rear gray tank, HUMMMMM
Hey guys,
Don't know if it is just me or not but the 2nd time we went out in our new 2020 21G the kitchen sink was backing up. We were breaking down and I had the front valve open draining the gray tank so i took apart the vent line, ran a snake to look for blockage, pulled to cover on the side of the camper, and just generally got frustrated that i could not determine why it wasn't draining. We were breaking down anyway so I decided to deal with it after I got home.
Once I got home and went back to diagnosing the problem, guess what I found, a rear drain vale that was not labeled on the camper, not identified during the walk through, and not acknowledged when you look at the specs that state there is only one gray tank. This value is well hidden (at least for this fat man standing on his head looking for things) just to the rear of the sewage storage tube. I know you guys are going to tell me to look at the control panel and it shows 2 gray tanks but hey, I always let the wife monitor those and never really paid attention.
So, for all the others that might encounter this same problem (hope I am not the only "smart" one LOL) this camper has 2, i repeat, 2 gray tanks and valves to open to drain the system!
My contribution of the day!

I've read other threads on the forum where GD has split the grays. Probably for weight distribution and/or to utilize space. Shame on your dealer for not showing you in the PDI, however I'm not surprised. My last two trailers were from smaller dealers, so my PDI was with an actual RV mechanic. We bought our GD from one of the larger dealers in Ohio and the "kid" on my 2020 320G walkthrough kept trying to stick locking pins in my HappyJac bed to show us how to secure the bed for travel. He finally was so baffled trying jam them in the holes he finally gave in and just left a set on the floor of the trailer. Later on, I did some digging into the lift version they've installed on my trailer. They've not used locking pins for the last two years per Grand Design...But I digress.

This should have been identified by the dealer and pointed out during the PDI they provided to you when you bought the unit
