    DICOR Rubber Roof

My Reflection is now four years old and I am experiencing some bubbling or blistering (small bubbles) on about half of the roof. Anyone know the cause of this? Or the cure?

I've taken my Reflection to an RV tech and he said he's never seen any like it. I reported to my Insurance who sent out a Claim Adjuster. The Claim adjuster with 18 years experience also said the same thing. As a result, the insurance will not pay. Will DICOR replace the roof under warranty?

Thanks for any ideas out there, $5k is very hard to swallow.

I've tagged Emily to this post. Please refrain from commenting until GDRV has a chance to weigh in.

    Thanks - Jim

Good morning! Have you attempted to reach out to our support team to see if they can point you in correct direction and give you info you can supply to the insurance company? They would definitely want to see some pictures of what you are referring to!

I would call our team first and foremost and ask to have it documented. I cannot guarantee they will be able to assist, BUT, they can get it documented and hopefully point you in the correct direction!

    Thank you!

I have contacted CS through Peter and I am now waiting on your contact with DICOR. Peter said to give it a couple of days. Thanks for the recommendation.

    Update DICOR Rubber Roof

GD contacted Jim at DICOR Corp. the distributor of the rubber roof used for many of the GD products. (I'm not sure what they are using now.) Jim called me and stated this was a known problem for a small batch of rubber roofs. The outer decorative membrane did not adhere correctly, and a breakdown in the cement used caused some separation. According to Jim after testing, they have found bubbling or blistering in no way compromises the roof, its cosmetic.

DICOR offered me a warranty adjustment of $4,700 from Carlyle for labor, new roof material, and the installation kit. This is prorated if your roof is less than five years old, older roofs are offered less.

While it may still cost me several hundred dollars to have installed, I did get almost five years of use out of it, so I am happy with the settlement.

I read in the DICOR Roof warranty that you must be an original owner.

What can I say, while GD wasn't responsible for the problem here, they did step up and help me find a resolution like so many times over the last five years. While I have had numerous issues with components of my Reflection, Customer Support has always been great. Thanks, Peter, Emily, and CS at GD!

It's BS like that that sets my hair on fire!

Does something bad magically happen when someone else signs the title?

Does that automatically cause systems and components to be at higher risk of failure?
