It may be possible to do this, but you have to have battery power to raise/lower the legs to hitch up. You can't do that if the battery is disconnected. So the possibility exists, but is really slight that you would hook up the battery to raise/lower the legs, and then unhook the battery and drive off.

Yes I know that. The only time I operate the second disconnect is when I've dropped off and an prepping for storage. When I hook up to pull out, the battery disconnect gets turned on so I can raise to hitch heigth and turn on my DC fridges. I have a really detailed checklist that we use and my wife will verify that that everything is done before we close out and pull out.

On my 22MLE, with the main power disconnect off, I measured 150mA drain on the battery. 500mA seems like a lot. Either way, whenever mine sits for more than a week, I either leave the battery on a trickle charger or disconnect the negative cable.

So, it sounds like your disconnect switch is working fine, right?
So no need to add another switch nor disconnect the battery?

With the disconnect switch ON, my rig draws power for the propane sensor, WiFi stuff, motion sensing lights, RF stereo memory, & OneControl boxes to the level of about 2.2A (26W).

With the disconnect switch OFF, mine still draws about 0.043A (0.5W) so pretty close to nothing.

When I unplug from shore power at the house, before hitching up, all 12VDC power is gone, because unplugging from shore power kills all 120VAC, including the Charger/Converter. Once that happens, and IF the 300A battery disconnect is open on my trailer, Nothing DC will work.....not the slides, not the levelers, nothing. That makes it impossible to hook up and tow it away. So given that scenario, I simply HAVE TO turn on the main disconnect to even be able to start getting the trailer ready to hook up to the truck. YMMV, but that's how mine works.

Pretty much the same amp reading, (.031amp), with disconnect switch red key out of socket like JJBBrewer wrote, I agree with Harvestmoon, .5 amp constant draw with trailer charged seems way too excessive .

If you have a tpms and leave the repeater plugged in, that’s your battery draw. Found out the hard way.
