    Quick Release Hose Parts

    Hi all,
I'm in a 2021 Momentum 399TH. I tried to attach my quick release water hose to the port to the right of the front door, and I think I must be missing a part. I have the black coiled hose and that's it. Did I misplace a connector of some sort? If so, can you describe it so I can look for the one that came with the rig (I looked through all of my parts and nothing seems to match what I'm expecting to see.) Is it brass metal or black plastic? Or am I just doing it wrong and no other parts are needed?
    Thank you!
    Jill

You’re not missing anything, insert the end of the black hose with the 2 tabs into the port, push hard and turn it 1/4 turn to the right.

Without a picture we can't be certain of your question. You say, "I have the black coiled hose and that's it". Is there literally just a hose, no connector whatsoever on either end of it? There should be a sprayer on one end and a twist connector on the other.

If those are there then @Bungy is probably correct; you likely just need to try harder. It's not easy, for sure. One way to ease the task is to turn off your water supply and release pressure in the trailer by turning on a faucet, or opening low point drains for ten seconds. Then, push the connector in straight and hard and twist the collar to lock it in place. When there's pressure in the system it takes a surprising amount of force to push the connector in.

Thanks for the help. I do think I'm missing something based on the explanation. Neither end of my hose has tabs, and the more narrow side has threads and is the same size as the port itself.

The first is the more narrow of the two sides. The other end is a fitting for a standard sprayer.
Can I buy a standard quick connect attachment from Amazon?

Yep, you are missing the part that screws onto the end of the hose (your first picture) and has two opposing tabs that fits into the water line plug on the side of the trailer. Not sure where you can get that part other than G.D., but there may be others here that can offer up advice where to get it.

When you're replying to or commenting on any post here it's best to use the Reply With Quote link that appears at the bottom of every message here. That copies the message you're responding to into your reply, improving context for anyone reading along later, and it also sends an alert to the person to whom you are responding, ensuring that they come back to this thread and read your reply.

The end depicted in your top photo is the one that attaches to the trailer. As @xrated has said it doesn't look complete. If yours should look like ours - and it probably should - you can see from the photo below that you're missing a part or parts. They might be available at good RV dealerships, or you can probably order from a Grand Design dealer.

The other end of that hose should have a sprayer or other attachment on it; basically anything you'd connect to a garden hose can be screwed on there.

Here's a parts lookup system for Grand Design:

    Good luck.

Is it possible the parts are in the GD folder with all the papers or in one of the drawers? Could it already be pushed in the trailer fitting (they just unscrewed the hose). If you can get a photo of you trailer fitting.
    Hope this helps

If the missing part(s) was/were left in the trailer fitting @jillhope7 would have a pretty good leak from that fitting as soon as he/she got pressure in the plumbing system. Maybe the neighbors got their trailer washed.

Might be somewhere else though. On our two trailers the hose was fully assembled (including a hand sprayer) and ready to use, but maybe they're doing something different for 2021 models.

If both the hot and cold valves were closed there would/should not be a leak. Am I thinking wrong here?

Maybe I am. I use that hose most often on the park side of the trailer where there is an outlet but no valves. Straight cold water under pressure used for rinsing off steps, spraying mud off dogs and lawn chairs, etc.

You're quite right, if @jillhope7 is using the hose in the Nautilus bay there are usually control valves there.
