I’m always amazed that RV manufactures (all of them) get away with such shoddy wiring practices. Scary!

Be aware, while the fix is do-able by you, it still needs to be verified that it was done (correctly). You'd need to contact GD on how to handle it if you want to do it yourself and see how they want you to do it.

I just posted something similar. I searched but didn't see yours. Maybe they can combine ours.

Found this post on the internet and as near as I can tell, this is what you're looking for. These wires look totally insecure and ate ribbing a very hot pipe.Click image for larger version.

Grand Design has said they will reimburse for a mobile tech to do the recall, albeit at the same 1.4 labor hours they give the dealers.
(at least this is how I understood their position)

The email I got was, yeah, they would pay for a mobile tech, but not their travel to and from. I would however be allowed to take it to ANY dealer, not just a Grand Design dealer. Big whop - still an hour or so away. Now they do say that the refrigerator needs moved forward to check the wiring.

This is correct. The procedure they published says to move the refer out from the wall 15" to 18" inches in order to access the back of the refer from the outside lower access and to secure the Romex cable to the wall.

Do they supply any specifics other than pulling the fridge, or how to pull the fridge?

Yeah. I can't find the info sheet right now that was sent to dealers, but it shows removing the interior trim top and bottom, removing the mounting screws and sliding the refer out. Be sure to have some wood blocking for support and padding to avoid floor damage. That should provide room to gain access through the lower access outside, but better if you find somebody skinny to do it for you.
Some units are just fine from the factory. If you remove the upper access outside and the wood baffle, you can get a look down inside and see if the wiring is adequately attached to the side wall. If so, you're good.
This is all according to the info sent to dealers. I'll post if I can find it again.

Threads merged and moved to Electrical Systems & Wiring. There is also an older, longer thread titled "Solitude Electrical Recall" on the same topic. Everyone please read and post there if possible.
