Parts flew off while on the road

I just got back from a trip from NY to Colorado. Several plastic parts were missing when we arrived in Colorado. The cover and the flap for the stove vent blew off. Also, the end caps for the rear bumper are gone.

I assume they are not supposed to come off like that -- Are they supposed to be glued on? Where can I find replacement parts?

    Thanks!

That puts a new meaning to "Going through KS really blows".... LOL!

On the brighter side, be happy the rest of the trailer isnt at the dealership waiting for service for upto a year.... read, heard, and even personally know of others who have drove their RV home and then immediately back to the dealership, and not had it for many months while waiting for service and parts. And still have the same issues 6 months later than that with parts that supposedly were replaced during the first hiatus.

As for your "blowed off" parts, try a little clear silicone when you put the new parts on. Should help with them from wanting to "leave the nest".

Those bumper caps are famous for jumping ship, I’ve probably lost a dozen or so over the years. Drill a small hole through it and the bumper from the top and put a cotter pin (unbent) in it.

As you consider replacement for the bumper end caps, there are some more secure options:

I have 4000 miles and my bumper caps are firm from the day we picked it up. I can tell you that if you store your sewer hose in the bumper (I store 2 in there) and use end caps, it can heat up, pressurize, expand and press on the bumper caps.

I only put one cap on, compress the hose deep in the bumper, extend the end barely out and then place the second cap in and press it home and cap it.

I had my hood vent cover come off as well. If yours is the same, this is the replacement:

Thanks, Rob! Do these still blow out on the road, but are tethered so you don't lose them? Are there any that just stay in the hole??

Hm, not sure if this would fit or not. I'll have to find at the manufacturer of the vent hood and see if they sell the parts. I was going to try to get GD to send me replacements, but that's a long shot.
