    Are you going to replace the cheap plastic fittings in the water heater and the ones in the hoses with brass? That is my next project, I'll also take a look at the platform.

    @Indy Tim -

    In a thread this long it's hard to tell who's attention you are trying to attract. Here are a couple of tips that might help:

    1) If you use "Reply With Quote" (to the right of "Reply") as I have here, folks will know to whom you are responding and that person will get a notification.

    2) You can also tag folks using the "@" symbol and their user name (as I have done yours) - they'll also get a notification that way.

    Absolutely it is bowed. I'll be rebuilding the entire base before installing the new water heater.

    Got the new water heater in today. I had some good help from 2 friends. Not that it a 3 person job, just everyone helping and doubling checking each other.

    Put in a new wood and metal frame structure to carry the weight; some 3/4 plywood for a platform; and topped it off with some spare vinyl flooring I had. Reinstalled my water alarm sensor too.

    I reused my recently replaced brass check valve and replaced the bottom white PVC nipple with a new grey PVC nipple. I had a steel nipple I could have used on the bottom but we felt the gray PVC would be fine.

    So far, so good. Gas and electric working and water running nice and clear.

    I'll post one more update when I cut open the old tank to see bad it is.

    I did some electrical today, hooked up the batteries. Hoping for a quick camping trip in a couple of weeks. Although a mid March snow storm could put a damper on those plans.

    Added two Coleman-Mach soft starts to both of my AC units. Easy install. Looking forward to their lower starting current.

    Today I installed a battery heater for my home made lithium battery bank. Apparently they don't like charging below 0°c. Working pretty well and now I don't have to take them out when we get a string of days/night in 20 something degree weather. Solar is functioning well and keeps the camper happy.

    Well, we had a somewhat difficult day today. Needless to say that the cold and rainy weather in Hondo TX got to us, but we also have a problem with the leveling system. The control panel in the lower storage space does not seem get any power, and on the panel in the living room area we no longer see the "manual leveling" app button. So we assumed there must be a problem with the wireless, but as much as we searched all the cabinets, cupboards, underneath storage places, behind the panel on the inside as well as the false wall in the storage space, we just did not find the d... thing. So I guess on Monday we will have to get a mobile RV service contractor to come here and help us. Not such a good day, we are a bit frustrated to put it mildly. If anyone has a good idea what could be the problem then please fire away!!! Thanks and best regards Heidy & Markus from Switzerland
