Good luck getting a consensus...fwiw, any full synthetic 5-40 that meets the Ford spec is fine. I go about 8000 mile's towing before changing using Valvoline blue Xtreme with Motorcraft filters. Have never had my change oil light come on. I think the filter may be more important than the oil.

I'm probably changing it too soon, but that works for me.

Diesel oil prices are way up! Valvoline was a pretty good deal on Amazon fairly recently.

This is in my 2917 6.7. Prior to that I ran Rotella in all my diesels. Either works.

This is good info....I used Valvoline Extreme Blue in a 6.0 diesel I owned a few years ago. It developed an oil cooler problem & this oil got me cross country while towing. And you're right about getting a consensus lol. Thanks!

Have used T6 in the 6.0 which my daughter has now - still running strong at 240K+. Caveat, my guess is she has the local Ford dealer and the 50/50. Used Amsoil in my 01 Cummins. Interesting, Mopar offers both a dino blend and full synthetic now depending on service conditions - relabeled Pennzoil I believe. If I were changing it myself, I'd probably go with T6 or Extreme Blue and I always use Motorcraft/Mopar filters. Don't even have consensus with myself

I use Schaffers 5-40 synthetic in mine. It is a little pricey but in today’s world you get what you pay for.

I use both Valvoline Premium Blue Extreme and Rotella T6, depending on which is on sale when I hit 5000 miles.

Which ever oil you use, it must meet Ford's latest diesel oil requirement. Rotella T-6 meets Ford's WSS-M2C171-F1 requirement. I have a 2020 F-250 6.7L and when traveling have found several dealers who don't use the required oil even though the new requirements are over 4 years old. They use either the old Ford diesel spec (bulk tank oil) or the same oil they use in the 2.0L and other gas engines. Ford is very clear they will invalidate warranty if you use an oil that does not meet their oil requirement and have an oil related failure.

This video helps explain the requirement. The issue is older oils do not provide proper lubrication for the 3rd gen (2020+) 6.7L Ford does recommend this oil for all their diesels.

Also, I've found Tractor Supply has the best price on T-6. Locally it's $57.99 for a 10qt bottle, about $12 lower than O'Reilly, AutoZone, and other supply houses. You can order online with free shipping to your local store if they don't have it in stock.

Also, I recommend going with the Ford oil filter for these engines.
