There are fans that can be installed into the vents that are there but it sounds like the door is the issue with yours
Why didn’t the dealer fix it if it was bad from new?
Ahh. You have an Imagine. I wouldn't replace those either. Mine are the REAL cheap ones. So cheap that you replace the entire thing (under warranty).

Yup, it is so bad that when I called GD and asked for the manufacturer of the vent I got the, "I don't know. We use so many." Hench why they send the entire vent when under warranty.

I replaced both vent fans with Fantastic Fans. I chose the model with Remote Control, Auto Temp Sensor, and Rain Sensor. I absolutely Love these Fans, they are variable speed, reversible, and I can sit on the toilet and turn it on so the stink leaves the bathroom (quickly and quietly). I have the rain shield over both fans and I can set them to automatically vent the coach when we are not in it, or while the coach is in storage (we have a Solar system that allows us this luxury). I've had these fans since Nov 2018 and they have performed well.

I know this may be more than you want to spend to replace the existing fans, but these Fantastic Fans (especially the remote control model) really are FANTASTIC !!!!

Well, the big issue is the OEM vent in my TT is of such poor quality that the opening mechanisms tend to strip out. So, that is not an option. I am trying to decide between Maxxair and Fantastic fans. Just need to see which one(s) you can replace the guts in vs the entire vent if something goes South.

    Something like this maybe?

Both don't require roof seal disturbance.

Well I see this isn't for you.

I have a MaxxFan 7500 in the kitchen area and I like it a lot for in and out air. I have a reversible Fantastic Fan in the bathroom and don’t care for it. Great as exhaust, but very weak as an intake. If the wind blows the right direction it draws a lot of air in. But if the opposite is true it draws very little. I wish I would have upgraded both to MaxxFan’s.

This here is similar to what he have currently. https://www.amazon.com/Camco-40480-R...16903024&psc=1

It is not very robust and have a high tendency to bind and strip out the gears. So, my decision is to replace the entire thing because the little 6 inch fan doesn't really pull that much air out.

I can see where people are getting confused and asking why I want to replace. If you have an Imagine, Reflection or any of the more higher end models you have a better fan. I think they use Maxxair in some.

Believe me I do not want to rip it out but GD can't tell me what is in the roof, "We use so many different manufacturers for that it is hard to know". Yes, I tried getting it repaired under Warranty but again, no parts.

Thanks for the Heng's suggestion and I was going to go with that but I noticed that my other vent is starting to bind up.

The two fans that came in our XLS 22mle look like your link. I replaced one of them with a Maxxfan Deluxe, manual version, since our ceiling is not too high. It works very well with no problems. We went with smoke color to match the black AC.

Some things I like about it; built in rain cover, low profile, quiet, good air-flow, and for me the most important feature, if the motor dies later on I don’t need to remove any sealant, I remove and replace the fan assembly only. During installation there is a flange that gets screwed into the roof and sealed. The fan assembly is then attached to the flange with four screws.

Yes, no getting around the unpleasant task of removing the old sealant to pull out the OEM fan but it has been worth it. I think it took an hour or two for one fan. Wished GD gave us an upgrade option but they didn’t.

Here’s a couple links giving more detail:

Hooray! Someone got what I was saying. lol

What I am going to do is see how universal those mechanisms are. Ventline sells an Operator Assembly that is close to mine. I am going to bank on the fact that all these vents that look exactly alike are from one manufacturer. All roads lead to Ventline so far. Then I can go with the Hengs insert fan and keep replacing the mechanisms as needed.

Oh, if anyone else runs into the stripped gear issue, my temp fix is to have a length of piano wire (from my RC plane supply) and use it to push up on the vent cover to assist the crank.
