    Best mods

    Hello, we have just purchased our 2019 320mks and was wondering what mods / upgrades you all would recommend. We came from a 2011 Jayco 25.5 mks which we did several mods and upgrades.

    Thank you!!

    First, welcome to the forum, as to your question I believe owners will prioritize mods according to what is most important to them. We have an excellent search function on this forum and once you have identified your intended mods use the search function to see how other owners have accomplished them. I personally would first add mods that will protect my investment, i.e. Progressive EMS system and adjustable water pressure regulator. If boondocking is important to you consider upgrading your house batteries and adding solar power. The opportunities are only limited by your willingness to spend money. Good luck and enjoy.

    @jasonPlegrand -

    I think the answer to that question is going to be different for everyone depending on who you are (including your age(s),) how you use your RV, etc. For some, the first order of business is getting a decent mattress (that's always one of our top priorities). For others, it's mods to improve how the refrigerator works, filters and other plumbing upgrades, and all kinds of things. As recommended, use the search function... though I don't think ideas for mods have to be model-specific. Many, if not most, mods and ideas are universal.

    In my opinion, the very first mod should be an EMS....Electrical Management System. The heartbeat of any RV is the electrical system when plugged into shore power. A good quality EMS (I like the Progressive Industries brand and have that in mine) will not only monitor for electrical problems like high voltage, low voltage, improperly wired shore power, and others, it will take your trailer off line from shore power if there is a problem, thus minimizing the risk of damaging some/most of the 120VAC electrical equipment. You can get them in 30A or 50A (depending on what your trailer is. You can also get portable ones that you plug in every time you hook up to shore power, or you can buy a "permanent" one that you install inline with the incoming power between the plugin on your trailer and before it goes to a transfer switch or to the breaker panel.

    I have many, many mods done to the Momentum and that was the very first one that I did.

    To me these are "must haves"! Any issue with incoming AC power or water is going to be a major issue. Pretty much everything else is optional.

    Have fun with your new trailer.

    In addition to the mods done by Johnww, we made one trip with our brand new 268BH and noticed several things, especially during the tow. The stock suspension creaked and groaned and bounced way more than I expected for a new trailer -(our first). Took it over to a local hitch/suspension shop and ended up with a complete rebuild. Heavier bracing, 3 inch lift and Roadmaster Suspension kit. Night and day difference towing. No bouncing, chucking or swaying. Next was the siphoning of the fresh tank that seemed to be an issue with some models. Took care of that. Took the pass through troughs and rebraced from the bottom and cut 5/8 plywood to match to beef those up….Click image for larger version.

    • A portable EMS isn't a mod in my book, but I love having mine built in.
    • Battery monitor better than the idiot lights!
    • Lithium conversion/expansion is golden. I killed 3 FLA my first summer.
