    Add a Shelf?

Has anyone added a shelf above the bed for books and such? Not sure how to locate any type of studs into which to attach supports...

Can't you use a stud finder? Not meaning to sound snarky, I'm just asking, because it makes sense to me (totally unknowledgeable about all things carpentry).

Had thought of that, however, it is my understanding that the frame work on these rigs are aluminum, so I don't believe a standard stud finder would work.

Sounds logical, thanks. Of course, you could try the "turn AC on coldest and look for condensation on outside walls to see the studs". We experienced that phenomenon recently.

We have a 337RLS but I believe the bedrooms are similar. My plan is to put up a shelf for smaller item like reading glasses, cell phone, my inhaler, etc... just above the headboard. My thoughts are to make it out of 1/4" cabinet grade plywood with a 2"x3/4" cabinet grade plywood front that extends from wall to wall and attaches to the back side of each window valance. The 1/4” plywood will fit into a datto in the 3/4” plywood 1/2" up from the bottom. The 1/4” plywood will simply rest on top of the headboard tight to the wall. Since the 1/4” shelf piece will only be about 4 to 5 inches deep it shouldn't flex at all. Stain it all as close as possible to match the existing trim.

I did something similar in my last travel trailer and it turned out nice.
