Late to this thread, but we got the electronic lock from rvlock.com and it was one of the best upgrades we have made. Never have to carry keys (leave one locked in truck just in case), just punch in 4 digit code to unlock, press and hold the Lock button to lock it.

GD parts can send you a replacement - just need the VIN and key code stamped on one of the original keys. I lost one of ours at a campground in TN - they were kind enough to contact me and send it to me but I had already ordered one from GD. Now I have an extra to lose, plus the two keys that the dealer mistakenly gave us which aren't for our trailer but do open the door lock but not the deadbolt.

Unless you really stay on top of changing the batteries in the keyless entry locks, the batteries will die at some time or another. If you don't have a key with you, you're locked out of your RV. We use the keyless pad as the default - but I never leave without a key in my pocket.

I suppose if you locked the trailer all the time, it kind of makes sense. We never lock ours, and if we did, one little key is actually smaller than a fob. One key, not the dreaded 751, unlocks all our doors, baggage and entry, deadbolts and all. KISS.

I keep a spare trailer key in my truck. The truck has the keyless pad entry. So, unless the truck dies too, I always have access.
