I had Verizon for 10 years. Prices kept going up. AT&T offered a good deal, buy out of remaining contract on phone, free HBO. Long story short, they lied. Paying more now than before, no refund on buyout, no free HBO

We’re the opposite....Had AT&T for years, then got smooth talked by Verizon. It initially seemed better, but 3 years later we’re paying as much as ever.

It’s a shame cell phone providers cant provide the same customer service as Grand Design!

There's so many factors to consider in wireless plans, besides cost - coverage and type of use are the big issues for us.

In Texas, I find that Tmo has by far the best coverage - at least of the places we frequent - but even in our (almost) rural area on the edge of the big city there are gaps. Overall, we find the Tmo 55+ plan to provide the lowest cost option for our typical use (video streaming eats a lot of data). Because of the holes in coverage and because unlimited is not really unlimited, we also have a Verizon line to fill in the gaps in coverage and service. Even with the veterans discount, Verizon is significantly more expensive and their plan more restrictive. I also kind of resent their multiple tiers and constant upselling.

Total Wireless is prepaid plan that rides on Verizon Towers. 2 lines with unlimited talk and text is $56 a month if you prepay with credit card.15 GB of data per month, with 5 GB more at $10 per month. I keep 15 MB of extra data in account that never expires just in case I run out of data BUT never have BUT don't stream videos from Netflix. Rember to change your credit card info if you get New one and you will never have problem with automatic monthly payment.

The thing that bothers me about this plan is :
Auto Pay (checks, home banking or debit card only) & paper-free billing req’d. Applies only to account holder aged 55 and older. Cannot be combined with other plan discounts. In times of congestion, your data may be temporarily prioritized behind other traffic. Mobile Hotspot/tethering reduced to speeds up to 600 Kbps. Domestic data roaming at 2G speeds. Limited-time offer. Max. 2 phone lines
Hmmm, maybe I should find an adapter that works with my G5 and try it out. All for saving money!

I should have mentioned before, Verizon gives a discount to active/retired law enforcement as well. They give me 8% off my data plan. I did have to show them credentials to get it.

We have been with Verizon from the start. There are very few places we have been that coverage is not available, in those places sometimes AT&T will get coverage, but mostly not.

We have 2 phones and 2 wifi devices, 4 lines total. Each device is throttled at 15gb. Computers are hooked up to wifi/broadband, then if we used all the data and need more we use the phones as a hotspot. I get a kick out of their advertisement, unlimited data, what a crock. If it was unlimited it wouldn't be throttled at the 15gb limit. I nearly cancelled with them I so mad about it when I first found out. But because of our varying locations IMHO it's still the best game in town.

I was told last week at the Verizon store that 5G is coming and it will be truly unlimited with no throttling of speeds. Haven't researched it and no idea how fast (or slow) it will roll out. Not sure if old devices will work on it either.

I have a MiFi with "unlimited" data on it through a law enforcement deal with an association. It's throttled at 15GB like others and once it throttles back the video streaming buffers a lot, especially on live TV. Like others have said, I keep it because it's the best deal for me right now, but as soon as something better comes along I'll ditch it like a blown tire.

I was also told the 5G is on the way but no exact date.

I used mine 55+ plan to stream video for 30 days and I didn't experience any throttling nor buffering yet. We were at a rally in Shawnee Ok with 300 plus RVs and streamed every evening without buffering. I also agree with several above that using the phone hotspot is very very close to worthless plan. I can use the IPad Pro for my internet browsing and work-related projects like word processing and spreadsheets including viewing our surveillance system.
