    Prospective Solitude Owner From Saskatchewan

Hey everyone, My name is Grant and I live in small-town Saskatchewan. Looking at buying a Solitude S-Class 3740BH for our family as a permanent lake retreat, so it won't be moving. I've done some research and this model fits us perfectly. If anyone has any input as to pro's and con's vs anything similar, I'd love to hear it. We plan on using it periodically during the winter months for snowmobiling trips as well, so any advice on winter camping is also welcome. Look forward to hearing for everyone.

If you won't be moving, why not consider a park model trailer? They are usually better insulated and on a single level.

Welcome and congratulations on hopefully getting your new 3740 ! There are a number of 3740owners here. Conduct a search using 3740BH and you will see a number of threads. Some threads will be from owners and other folks just sharing and learning on the 3740.

I do not recall any permanent site 3740 owners but there are a number of other folks with permanent sites with all types of GDRVs. You may want to consider starting a new thread with permanent site in the title including other specifics you are wondering about where folks see it and can respond.

Dallas @D2Reid has extensive winter camping experience and has shared many things he and his wife have learned over the years. Dallas is also a sited Moderator and very willing to help and share. If he does not respond here, you can send a PM to him.

We have, but wanted the option to move if necessary. There could be a few occasions where we would like to be more mobile.

That's a real concern that you've thought through! Can be a challenge to get a park model moved up there. Something you will definitely want to do is park on at least a gravel pad underlain with a vapor barrier because you will want to skirt the camper for best cold weather performance. Do you have electric available? If not, can you do a big onsite propane tank, which will allow you to run with the Onan generator option.

    Welcome and best wishes!

The site we will be at has gravel and full power/water/sewer connections, but water is seasonal.
