    Question Question About 5ver Hitches

I purchased a 2019 F350 today not realizing that the SuperGlide that was in my 2011 F250 would not just fit right into the anchor points that are in the new truck. Here is the question. Can I get an installation kit for the SuperGlide that will work in the 2019 or do I have to buy a whole new hitch? I read somewhere that the SuperGlide was a lower profile than the OE Puck that is supposed to fit right in. It has me wondering about clearance. Live and learn.

I can't be very helpful, not only because I'm not well-versed on the Superglide but because you don't say which one you have.

However I can tell you that ours is from the ISR series - the 18K model, no longer made, I forget the model number - and it attaches to a frame that attaches to the puck system in our 2017 F350.

It's one big heavy multi-part mess of steel but it was installed in our truck in well under five minutes, no fiddling or mods at all.

I suspect it's too late for you for this page, but maybe something helpful here:

    Good luck.

I have this Reese adapter.https://www.etrailer.com/Accessories...e/RP30156.html. Then any hitch fits into it. It will sit 2 or 3" higher.

I had the 4400. I found out they have adapter kits that would cost just a few hundred less than the proper hitch. I ordered the one for the OE Puck. It will be here Tuesday. Hopefully this is the last one I have to buy.. Thanks for the feedback.

This might be the last one you have to buy, unless you switch to a RAM, they have mysteriously chosen different spacing/size for their Puck System.

Actually all the manufacturers (Ford, RAM, Chevrolet/GMC) have different spacing/size for their puck systems. Not sure who was first. So no matter which brand truck you buy and you decide to change to another brand truck, you will also have to buy another hitch to fit that particular brand.

Curious, Can a hitch be installed on a new truck the old fashioned way , using rails?
If we can't take our Air Safe hitch to a new truck Gary would have quite a bit of convincing to talk me into buying another expensive hitch like that.

How well is that adapter working - any issues?

Yes most brands can still have the rails installed. However the adapter linked in post #3 is an easier solution.

Adapter works great. It cams into the pucks so it fits tight and wont rattle. I have a short bed with a slider and it all breaks down so you dont need a forklift to load and remove the hitch.
