Question How to support a 5th wheel

I am wanting to replace all my tires, but I'm wanting to take them off myself and take them to a shop. I'd prefer to take all 6 at once and not 2 at a time. What is the best way to support the trailer?

I'd say, the only way to accomplish that is to jack it up and setup blocks (4x4, 6x6 wood pieces) under the frame for it to rest on. Just look out for things like LP lines.

I do this all of the time when replacing tires. I put 6x6 blocks under the axles at the u-bolt locations to support the weight of the trailer and then remove the wheels and take them to a tire shop to get the tires replaced.

yep - that is how MorRyde does it when putting on the IS. They just use really heavy duty air jacks.

When I did my tires (a few times) I've put mine on large, heavy duty jack stands. I put one just to the rear of the rearmost hydraulic jack and one just in front of the frontmost jack. I've found if I put some pads (about 4" under the front jack while the rig on is the truck) and lower the front first and I can place the rear jack stand. Then I raise the front up until the wheels are off the floor and put the front jack stand in place. I'll probably catch grief for doing it this way, but it works. You can also put some support under the axels if it makes you feel more comfortable.

I have the six point leveling hydraulic jacks, and that's what I would use to change mine. Take most of the weight off the wheels, jack up each, one at a time, until I had them all. Couple jack stands in place for backup.

I thought about that, but read a lot of mixed reviews on that subject on the internet.

Mostly how I have done it, Though I skip the jacking of wheels. I just take it up enough to pull the wheels. I use the hydraulics to lift it for pretty much all maintenance.

Mixed reviews from those who have done it vs those who have not? Lots of CYA from the companies now about not doing it, whereas it used to be a selling point back a few years ago. Life used to be so simple before the lawyers got involved in everything.

Actually, that's the way I do it. I was trying to mitigate the push-back.
