Water in the toilet bowl leaks out very quickly.

Is it normal for the ¼ in of water I leave in the bottom of the toilet to leak out in a few minutes? Is there a solution to keeping the water in the bowl so the gasses from the black take stay in the black tank? We have only had four trips in the 369rl and when I tried to put some anti freeze in the bowl it leaked out in a few minutes. I tried cleaning the rim of the bowl ball and that did not appear to have made any significant difference.

    Hi Richard & Sandy (@photogent),

There is a seal around the ball valve that holds water in the bowl. From what you have described, the seal has either rolled off the ball valve or is defective. Please contact your dealer to arrange for repair.

Thank you for the quick reply Janice,
I must have hit the wrong tab and I do not see my answer so I will try again. We are going to the beach over Christmas and again during January here in SC and my wonderful dealer is in Augusta so it is a two and a half hour tow and a three hour tow from there to the beach soon is there a quick fix I can do until I can get to the dealer?
Have a wonderful Holiday and thank you again for your reply.

Was there any additional info on this issue? I've developed the same problem in our Momentum with the water in the bowl apparently seeping slowly past the ball and seal into the holding tank. I've not found additional info in the manual to address this, but assume replacing the seal wouldn't be rocket science. I cleaned the seal as best I can an it appears in good condition.

    Thanks

    Hi Alan and Kathleen (@arhayes),

Try a green Scotch-Brite pad on the seal. That, along with soaking in a 50/50 solution of vinegar and water with the ball closed seems to work. Hard water build-up on the seal causes most leaks. The Scotch-Brite pad breaks loose the build-up and roughens up the seal.

    Best regards,
    ~ Janice

    Janice,

Took your suggestion, but it still appears to be losing water into the tank. Anything else I might try short of getting a replacement seal? I would have expected it to last longer than 6 months.

It may take a new seal....

Do you keep liquid in the bowl at all times? If not, it should have some sort of lube, as they will dry out and crack.

There is even a product just for that.

    Huntr,

Yes - we've always made sure that there was water in the bowl, but I've never used an additive like you pointed me to. I'm not sure how often these should have to be replaced, but we are full-timers so it's had almost 6 months of daily use. Not sure if that's reasonable or not.

I just had a customer call about the same thing. They are full timing for almost a year now.

He replaced the seal, and got the conditioner to help.
