I purchased the Furrion Vision 5 with 7" monitor over 2 years ago and have no complaints or regrets. I have not experienced any issues with connectivity while towing our 42' Solitude. I mainly use it to keep tabs on who is behind me while towing and when changing lanes. My wife is my is my primary source of information while backing up - we communicate via cell phone or walkie-talkies.

I have the halo7 set up but honestly I use it to keep an eye on the small motorcycle on a bumper hitch carrier mostly while traveling. Just turns out makes a good back up camera looking down like that. As for traffic I wouldn't bother as the lag and stutter makes that spotty and I don't really need it going down the road for lane changes.
When installing it I had to use a clearance light location as the furrion mount was misswired for power and too difficult to rewire due to truss location.

Dohonest from amazon. 7" screen and a furion adaptor that needed some grinding and bending to make it work. Works well. It is great for driving in heavy traffic but does not replace a spotter when parking.

So what is the best camera? I want one that performs well on the road as well as backing up and I want good night vision.

    Thanks in advance
I purchased the vision works back up camera from technorv.com
They are located in Alabama near Mobile.
Vision works is out of Oregon and they supply most of the cameras for farm equipment such as the large John Deere machines. Been around for long time. I bought the 9" monitor and camera for $499 delivered. Order it with the furrion mount and it will install easily on back of your GD. They are only company to use Sony camera. Also have a 7" monitor and camera for $399. Worth the phone call to them and or look at video the owner put together. This camera has only been out for one year but it makes Furrion look like junk.

Forgot to mention...went on 4000 mile trip this summer and ran camera all day while driving and no lag at all. The color and quality 1080P amazing and you can also insert an SD card in monitor and record your driving. In case of an accident you got your proof. Check it out!

I ended up purchasing the VisionWorks camera with the 7" monitor. I did run into an issue installing due to the small hole made in the Imagine for the marker light wiring that powers up the camera. The VW camera has that pairing switch that won't fit in the hole. I called VW and quickly got a technical guy who solved the issue by sending me out a different mount at connects to the Furrion shark-fin. This provides a sealed cavity for the pairing switch and more much more accessible. I asked him about the reports about the poor wireless connection at highway speeds. He asked how long my trailer was (26') and said I shouldn't have an issue but since he was sending me the new mount he would throw in the remote antenna that moves the antenna closer to the front of the trailer, just encase I have issues, all at no cost to me and expedited shipping. I must agree with the comments that VW has great customer service.

I selected the VW observation camera kit because of the Sony camera quality and the reports of quality and performance. I use 4k Sony cameras on my home's security/surveillance system and very satisfied with the quality and performance. Sony makes good stuff and I have bought many Sony products over the years. I have powered up the VW system and so far it looks great! The monitor is good stuff also. I'm thinking I could add 3 more Sony cameras for a combo of driving observation and security surveillance cameras operation.
